John 1:12 – “But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.” – [Isa. 56:5]

Only those that believe, receive and welcome Him have gotten this right, to be called Children of God. If we don’t have a relationship that exists with Jesus then we are not in His family and we have no right to enter His home.

I know many assume we are all “the Children of God.” That is a misnomer.

Yes, God created us all but He isn’t the Father to all. To some He’s just a Creator to some He is a Father.

You might say, but God knows me, Yes He does, but He knows that you exist, but He doesn’t know you personally.

Jesus stated in John 8: 44 “You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false.” Jesus here was speaking to the people whose heart was too hard to accept His words.

In other words, it is either your father is the devil or God is your Father. I know this is something not everyone is willing to hear, it can be something some people will argue out. But God has stated the birth certificate of His children (John 1:12) but, Romans 8:14 “For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” So we can’t just settle for getting the certificate but to work with it.

Most times our sins are justifiable in our eyes, partially because of today’s permissive society. Society in general and the Western culture has watered down sin to sub a degree that the word sin is nonexistent in our vocabulary. Most times we replace God with a false god to suit our ideas, opinions, lifestyles and sin.

We must also come to the understanding that God cannot lower His standards for any reason. Ignoring spilled milk on the floor and setting your mind it looks better as a floor cover doesn’t change the fact that milk has spilled and sooner or later an accident will occur if not cleaned up.

It is a strong language to say or think the devil has children but most don’t realize that we all have a Spiritual Father and there are only two choices. If we haven’t made Jesus our Lord, then we have a father whether we know it or not. If you think this doesn’t make sense, then you have the right to disagree with Jesus, but it won’t change facts.

Just like going for an interview without your CV and you say ‘I didn’t know it would be needed’!

Lack of knowledge won’t be an excuse.
