When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1 Corinthians 13:11)
The time of Youth is the season which is accompanied with freshness, strength, vitality, the time before a child becomes an adult. Most of life avoidable are traced to a misspent youth.
“What will make a man fall is not what suddenly jumped on him but what grew with him from his youth”.
Transition is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another, a passage from one action or mood to another.
The path of the youth is very slippery. The younger generation have so many things to learn, far beyond what is written in the cover of school books. Life is beyond intellectual acquisitions. Young people have need of quality counsel.
One who is mentally and emotionally matured, fully grown who has come of age is called an adult. Adulthood is not a time for experiment and embracing wild fashion and lifestyle. Being an adult is being responsible because life itself is a responsibility.
“That if any would not work, neither should he eat”. (2 Thessalonians 3:10b)
Adulthood is a very demanding stage in life. A time to live out your childhood dream. A child can be given birth to but a man cannot be born. A man is a product of growth.
And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS (Luke 1:31). And God said, Let us make Man in our image, after our likeness.(Genesis 1:26a)
“Children are given BIRTH TO but MEN are MADE”
Stop waiting to be a man, prepare to be one. You can actually become one by being a responsible youth.
BRACE UP! YOU WILL NOT ALWAYS BE LIKE THIS
Since change is inevitable in life, you need to learn how to gainfully use the season of your youth for future gain. Becoming that man or woman you see in your dream is a course you must focus on. You may not have been fortunate or privileged to have had a proper upbringing. This could have been due to parental negligence, wrong environment, absence of good leadership, etc but you can always turn to God.
“When my mother and my father forsake me, then the Lord will take me up”.(Psalm 27:10)
God’s training and teaching has nothing to do with your background, academic achievements or failures nor is it subject to your mental abilities. All that is required is your acknowledgement that you don’t know it all and your willingness to learn and take up challenges. God does not train nor teach arrogant and proud people, He does not feed people’s ego or brain. He only inspires change in the spirit of man which subsequently transform his mind and ultimately change his life.
“But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding”. (Job 32:8)
The most vital ingredient for proper, effective and productive transition (growth) in life is GOOD COUNSEL. You need to both know what to run away from and what to run after. How not to respond to your weakness and how to make good use of your strength(starve your lust for worldly pleasures and greatly feed your love for God). How to have rule over your spirit (Proverbs 16:32;25:28). How to keep your heart(don’t always pour out your emotions.Proverbs 4:23). How to align yourself with godly principles and many more.
“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed there to according to thy word”. (Psalm 119:9).
Can you now see your dear need of God? Life has a tomorrow which is mostly an unknown journey and you can’t afford to travel alone. You sincerely need a close relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ.
Your life won’t change until you change. Jesus is THAT change you need.
“REMEMBER NOW thy creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shall say, I have no pleasure in them. (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
How PREPARED you are as a YOUTH will determine how PREFERRED you will be as an ADULT. Surrender your life to Jesus today. Ask Him to come into your life and make you a new person.
