And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

The reality of what transpired in this garden is observed in today’s church. There were two significant trees located at the center of the garden “the tree of life” and “the tree of knowledge of good and evil”. Adam and Eve though had been in the garden for sometime, having the freewill to chose what food to eat resolved to eat not of the tree of life, rather consented to gobble of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Which tree will you eat of?
Will u prefer to have the very nature of God (life) or some life guiding rules (morals). You might be a moralist following the rules of the church, probably a good church attendant yet be VOID OF THE LIFE OF CHRIST.

“He that hath the son hath life, and he that hath not the son of God hath not life” – 1 John 5:12

Though the Israelite had the law yet their lives were pathetic due to disobedience. Whenever a man disobeys the law, there is a death sentence in his heart, until you have life (Christ) in you then will you be able to fulfill the law.

“For Christ has already accomplish the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God”. – Romans 10:4 (NLT)

Sin is a NATURE and not an ACT. A child is never taught how to sin but must learn to live right. RIGHTEOUSNESS must be a nature in a man in order to eradicate man’s sinful nature. Self righteousness (morality) is an appearance that will fade away at the test of time.

Christ was able to fulfill the law and its demand because he was born of God i.e had the nature of God. (1Corinthians 15:47) (1 John 5:4)

For man to be able to live RIGHT, he needs a NEW NATURE which only comes from God.

“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”. – Ephesians 4:24

This is what is meant by being born again, taking off the old man and putting on the new man. The old man is a servant of sin (disposed to, directed by, subjected to and dominated by sin) while the new man is a servant of righteousness (principal of all things, directed by grace).

Now, you realize the tree of life signifies Jesus Christ while the tree of knowledge of good and evil symbolize Mortality. The former being a NATURE while the later a mere APPEARANCE .

You might be in the garden of Eden (Church) yet have not eaten of the tree of life. Why should you be in the Lord’s garden yet not eat of Him? Why starve your soul when there is a great supper? Why thirst when there is a fountain of living water? Why remain in sin when righteousness has been given as a gift?

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared to all men”. -Titus 2:11

All that is required of you is REPENTANCE (a deep conviction that you still possess the nature of sin), and acknowledgement of your weakness. Believe in your heart that Christ is able to save you from sin, confess to Him that you need his forgiveness. Accept Him now and you shall have ETERNAL LIFE.
