The issue is that mankind doesn’t want to let go of their sin.

When we are confronted by the sight of God’s Word, our sin is exposed. We would rather hide in the darkness and not face it. But if we still simply come to God, He will help us get rid of the sin that enslaves us. Instead of running from God, we ought to run to Him.

Now, Jesus told us that: He alone is the Way to the Father (John 14:6). To live with God all through eternity we have to go through the Way. There are so many ways but do they all lead to the same direction? Just as the Bible stated, there is a narrow way and a wide way does both ways lead to the same destination? Of course not only one does! God plainly gave us a direction to His house.

The bottom line is that, there are people who don’t really want anything to do with God but accept the pleasant place He has created for His children to stay with Him all through eternity. They just prefer to avoid that harsh and terrible place ‘hell’ just take the option of staying with God even when they rejected Him on earth. Does that sound logical?

It is either we let God pay for our sins or we pay for it for all eternity.

Which is it going to be?

R.T. Kendall writes in his book Out of Your Comfort Zone “There are two ways by which God ultimately punishes sin; either by the sacrifice of His Son, whose blood completely and eternally satisfies His justice, or by the fires of hell, which never completely satisfy His justice, which is why hell is unending.”

God intends for us to go through the direction He gave us and spend eternity with Him. But for us to go through the Way, a relationship must be created.

You cannot just wake up and tell me ‘I’ll like to move in with you.’ First of all I’ll consider the relationship we have that gave you that right, secondly I’ll look at our closeness before I begin to consider letting you move in.
It’s my home so I make the decision and not you.

And that’s exactly how it is with God but unfortunately, some people feel they have the right to God’s house.

If you don’t expect me to let you in, why do people think they can just get to heaven and knock on the door?

Remember the Bible says, ‘God cannot be mocked.’
